1750+ HOURS OF TEACHER TRAININGAll the teachers at Soumyam have undertaken over 1750 hours of residential ISHA Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Coimbatore, developed globally-renowned yogi, humanitarian and enlightened master, Sadhguru
TAUGHT WITH GREAT CAREOur classes are taught with great care and precision to create a conducive atmosphere for learning the subtle science of Hatha Yoga
INTIMATE GROUP SETTINGSTaught in an intimate group setting, classes are designed to gradually introduce students to yoga practices through verbal instructions and demonstrations. We also feature informative videos that provide intellectual insight into the processes taking place
INWARDLY ORIENTED TEACHING FORMATUnlike many modern studios, we avoid playing music, using mirrors or props, talking while demonstrating, or physically touching the participants during the class. Many students comment on the depth of their experience as a direct result of this inwardly oriented teaching format
OFFERED IN UTMOST PURITYThe practices we offer come from a deep yogic tradition which boasts a holistic understanding of the physical body as well as more subtle aspects of the human system. These practices are offered in utmost purity with an emphasis on safety and precision
Soumya is a sofware engineer, an amateur artist and a globetrotter. After working as a software engineer for 8 years, she decided to quit her corprate job and become a yoga teacher. She completed her yoga teacher training in 2017 and has since been teaching in India and Australia. When not teaching you will find her enjoying graffiti on Melbourne lanes or enjoying her solitude in a park just like in this photo.
Santhosh is a mechanical engineer, cyclist and a lanscape photographer. After taking a break from work in 2017, he travelled all over India on his bicycle and ended the trip by volunteering for a couple of months in the Isha ashram in South India. That is where he decided to become a hatha yoga teacher. He completed his teacher training in 2019. When not teaching you will find him in a remote village in South India on his cycle and of course with his camera.
